Program
Mission: The Mission of the Dallas Blueprint for
Leadership program is to accelerate the involvement of ethnic
minorities on the board of directors, committees and panels of the Center
for Nonprofit Management member agencies.
Program
Background: The program was born out of a need for nonprofit
boards to address diversity and improve their cultural competency. Blueprint
for Leadership provides a way for boards to be more culturally
relevant and reflective of the communities they serve. The mission of
the program is achieved through 42 hours of classroom training and group
activities designed to cultivate qualified, committed, skilled, high caliber
minority volunteers to serve.
The
Center & Blueprint: In 2006, the Center for Nonprofit Management
graduated its inaugural class of Dallas Blueprint for Leadership
after 12 successful years under the direction of the United Way of Metropolitan
Dallas. Since 1980, the Center has endeavored to build a stronger community
by increasing the performance and impact of nonprofit organizations through
the many programs and services it offers. The Blueprint program contributes
to the building of a stronger community by assisting nonprofit boards
to better reflect the communities they serve.
